    The SolaFast Clamp is a secure mechanical fixing for solar panels with a 30mm frame and solar panel bird mesh with a 24mm aperture. Featuring pre-fitted grub screws and requiring fewer fixings than traditional mesh clips, it provides faster installation and a secure, long-lasting mechanical fix.

    This kit includes 60 × SolaFast Clamps with pre-fitted grub screws,  a 30m roll of SolaMesh, and all the tools required to install the clamps and mesh, even where access is restricted. The kit is available with or without 20 × black metal cable ties to secure the corners.

    Description

    The SolaFast Clamp is a discreet mechanical fixing designed to secure solar mesh to solar panels with a 30mm frame. By reducing the number of fixings required compared to traditional mesh clips, it helps installers achieve faster installation times while maintaining a secure fix and a neat, low-profile finish.

    Installation takes just seconds using an impact driver, while a mini-ratchet or 4mm Allen key can be used where access is more restricted.

    Manufactured from exterior grade aluminium with a matt black powder coating, the clamps are UV- and water-resistant, helping to maintain a secure, reliable fixing throughout the life of the installation.

    This kit includes a 30m roll of black PVC-coated SolaMesh with a 24mm aperture, and all the tools required to install the clamps and mesh, even where access is restricted.

    What’s In Your Kit?

    The SolaFast Clamp ‘Starter Kit’ includes:

    • 60 × SolaFast Clamps with black stainless steel grub screws
    • 1 × 30m roll SolaMesh
    • 20 × black coated stainless steel cable ties for corners (if selected)
    • 1 × 105° right-angle driver adaptor
    • 2 × 4mm hex-shank drill bits
    • 1 × superglue for drill bits
    • 1 × mini-ratchet
    • 1 × 4mm Allen key

    The supplied tools allow SolaFast Clamps to be fitted using whichever installation method is preferred.

    Fitting Instructions

    To ensure a flat fit against the edge of the panel for optimal clamp fitting, we recommend positioning the mesh flush with the edge of the solar panel and bending it over the top of the panel to create a 90° bend. Once this has been done, the mesh can be turned over and positioned so one edge sits flat against the solar panel frame, the other, flat to the roof tiles.

    Secure the mesh to the panel frame with SolaFast Clamps fitted at approximately 50cm intervals. Ensure the clamps are fitted the right way up, with the grub screw positioned beneath the lower edge of the panel.

    For corners, cable ties can be used to close any gaps, preventing birds from accessing the area beneath the solar panels. Trim the mesh around the solar panel end clamps so it sits flush to the panels.

    When installing with an impact driver, apply a dot of superglue to the base of the 4mm hex bit to hold it securely within the adaptor head (glue included with the Starter Kit bundle). Learn more by reading our fitting instructions.
